I started dancing at the ‘Madelaine Kelly School of Dancing’ at the age of 7 and continued until the age of 18. During my time at the school I gained GCSE and A level dance, which helped to further my knowledge and passion for dance. During this time I performed in many shows which gave me the drive to pursue a career in dance.

At 18 I then went on to study dance at De Montfort University, Leicester, which further opened my eyes to the world of dance. During my time at DMU I studied choreography in depth and I graduated in July 2009 with a 2:1 BA honours degree.

Immediately after university I was employed by Haven Holidays as a dance captain. During my time with Haven I was able to put my choreographic skills to good use as I was asked to choreograph two complete shows. At the end of my season with Haven I decided to pursue a career in teaching and happily returned to the Madelaine Kelly School of Dancing as a teacher.

For the past 2 years I have attended the Linda Sweetzer’s Teacher Training College in Maidenhead, and to date have gained my Diploma in Dance instruction (DDI) in modern theatre and tap. I have also gained my RAD grade 8 ballet with distinction and my ISTD Advanced 1 Tap with distinction. I am now working towards my Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) which I hope to complete shortly and in January 2014 I will commence my Diploma in Dance Teaching Studies at the Royal Academy of Dance.

I really enjoy teaching all ages and I am very glad I decided to take this career path. I look forward to many more years associated with the Madelaine Kelly School of Dancing.
